Check out the latest Heating Hood Furnace and Base installation by CIC Pittsburgh. Recently commissioned, dried out, and put into production, the Heating Hood has inside dimensions of 45’ long x 12’ wide x 8’ tall to normalize and anneal carbon steel plates. The furnace utilizes twenty (20) high velocity burners with split zone control for optimal temperature uniformity and control.
The Hood is lined with 2600F Ceramic Fiber Modules. Each of the two bases provided are lined with High Strength Low Cement Castable and a High Strength Insulating Castable. Pre-cast piers are used to support the product and develop flow channels for the lower burners.
The automation system utilizes a PLC and fully functional HMI for process monitoring and control, heating recipes, alarms, and trending.
