Answer: Now!
Industrial Furnaces should be tuned at least once per year to make sure that all of the burners are firing properly. That is, the burners should deliver the heating capacity needed to support production. They should fire with the proper air/fuel ratio for safe and efficient combustion. They need to be set to deliver sufficient turndown to avoid overheating during idling. And the low fire settings need to ensure a consistent and reliable light-up.
We just tuned up this furnace last week… 18 burners, all optimized for production and uniform heating.
