This weekend, I had the pleasure of skiing at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. It was a great day for skiing, with fabulous snow coverage and clear blue skies. Adding to the enjoyment was taking a ride on the brand-new Avalanche chair lift, which was supplied by Doppelmayr USA. The lift is a major improvement over the old one it replaced!
While riding, I could not help but wonder where the lift structures were galvanized. I reached out to Doppelmayr USA and learned that the hot dip galvanizing was provided by Valmont Industries, Inc. at their Intermountain Galvanizing plant in Lindon, UT. This is a plant we know well at CIC Pittsburgh, as we have supported it with a major furnace revamp and spare parts.
Kudos to all involved! Here are a few photos I (carefully) took while on the lift.
