CIC Pittsburgh announces the recently completed installation and commissioning of a new Hot Dip Galvanizing Furnace for AZZ’s facility in Reno, NV. The furnace is the heating source for a large 55’ x 7’ x 10’ kettle. Despite the large size, this furnace was designed to be free-standing, with no load being transmitted to the pit walls. The new furnace is end-fired with six pulse-fired high velocity burners to maximize kettle life and optimize temperature uniformity. The new furnace is equipped with CIC Pittsburgh’s control system that offers ease of operation, maintenance, and reliability. In addition to the furnace, CIC Pittsburgh also installed a new fume enclosure and kettle covers to support AZZ’s ongoing commitment to safety and global sustainability.
