Furnace

DESIGN & INSTALLATION

Highly efficient and easy to maintain, our furnace design and installation services allow ease of kettle change out and a long furnace lifetime throughout multiples change-outs. Our timely and efficient installation reduces downtime, and our exclusive free-standing design removes the need for an excavated pit, reducing costs and installation time. All CIC Pittsburgh furnaces come with external TC and leak detection as a standard option.

BURNER TYPE (part of furnace design & installation)

CIC Pittsburgh utilizes many burner manufactures with the latest technology. We offer the following types of burners:

      • Side fired flat flame in either proportional or True Pulse Control

Kettle

CIC can provide the kettle, support systems, refractory and manpower to change your kettle in a little as 4 days, regardless of kettle or furnace manufacture. Our experience can help you plan for a smooth and efficient kettle change. Our professional services include:

    • Remote Kettle Temperature Monitoring

White Fume Enclosure

Enclosures, combined with a high-efficiency baghouse, provide the means to capture as much as 99% of particulate emissions from the galvanizing process. The enclosures supplied by CIC Pittsburgh include full area end doors that are actuated by pneumatic cylinders, allowing for complete access to the kettle for dipping and also for maintenance.

Full length side doors, actuated by electric hoists, provide access for skimming. High efficiency lighting is standard for the interior of the enclosure.  As an added benefit, our design does not require the enclosure to be dismantled from the furnace for kettle changes.

Baghouse

A Baghouse, working in conjunction with a furnace enclosure, can capture approximately 99% of the particulate emissions that emanate from the hot dip galvanizing kettle.  The exhaust gases leaving the baghouse generally comply with all local environmental requirements.

Boiler

CIC Pittsburgh can provide you with the boiler system (boiler, pumps, controls, etc.) to recirculate hot water for heating your tanks.  Typical systems are skid-mounted to facilitate installation in your plant.  Independent or integrated control systems are available.

Waste Heat Recovery

A heat exchanger in the furnace exhaust flue allows you to recover approximately 50% of the waste heat content for reuse in providing hot water. The waste heat recovery process heats hot water in tanks and provides savings on equipment operational costs. 

Tank Heating Coils

CIC Pittsburgh offers tank heating equipment that utilize hot water to achieve and maintain the desired degreasing, pickling, and rinsing tank temperatures.  Tank heating coils are custom-sized for your operation and materials of construction depend on your process.

Tanks

We can provide Degrease, Pickle, Rinse and Flux Tanks for your Galvanizing Plant.  We work closely with our suppliers to ensure reliable designs using the most appropriate materials of construction.

Drying Table

CIC Pittsburgh has an innovative, yet simple design for a Drying Table.  The table utilizes waste heat from the Galvanizing Furnace to maximize fuel efficiency and save on operational costs.

Spinner Clamshell

CIC Pittsburgh offers a retractable clamshell protection shield system for spinning directly above the kettle. The unit may be designed to be permanently positioned on the furnace or be moveable for periods when spinning operations are not needed. The clamshell sides are hinged and operated with pneumatic cylinders, so they can be opened to facilitate drossing.
